FINAL PROJECT

Freshmen year was an extremely difficult year for me because I had just moved to California from Ohio which is clear across the nation. The junior high I came from was in a little town called Fairborn whose main concern was to keep their kids out of jail and off the street not so much on educating the youth such as it is in El Segundo. So I was making pretty good grades with an A average but that was shortly lived because the academics at El Segundo were way harder and it was difficult for me to adjust to the increase in work difficulty. On top of that I had to start over coming from a school where I was on the football team friends with EVERYONE to a new school in a whole new state where I knew nobody was extremely uneasy. I made friends rather quickly with a kid named Henry who I met in a physical education class. Through Henry I met a freshmen named Fernando and Fernando and I have been best friends ever since.

Sophomore year was a little easier as freshmen because I began to get more comfortable with myself opening up to new friends and building a relationship with the girl of my dreams. I had this girl for months on end. I also grew a everlasting relationship with another girl named Lesly, we were inseparable people referred to us as “W.E” because we were always together. But again nothing lasts forever and once we got into a little bit of trouble we both acted as if the friendship meant nothing and scrambled to keep ourselves out of trouble not worrying how we were incrementing the other. On the other hand Fernando and I began to grow strong not so much as friends but as brothers.

Junior year began as quit a scare because for the first time I made the decision to challenge myself and try an advanced English course with Mrs. Stucken as my teacher. I spent a good chunk of the summer reading the book Roots. So when the class came around I scored a B on the first paper and was rather proud of myself. I began to look at what colleges I was going to be applying to as I watched my sister who was a senior at the time make her final decisions. I also found out about the Law Enforcement Explorer Program and completely fell in love with it. My three best friends were Itchel Guzman, Manny Rodriguez, and Fernando Vallin.

Senior could not have come sooner, I am so ready to say good bye to high school and start the rest of life in the real world where if u do not show up to a college class there not going to call your mommy and daddy it all falls on you. I have made the decision to attend California State Dominguez Hills in the fall and am eager to begin working for my major in sociology. Fernando and I are still thick as thieves. I am still very active in the explorer program. The lesson I learned in high school is to not be so naïve, all things happen for a reason and that nothing lasts forever. In the words of Mac Dre, “Life’s short ain’t no telling when your leaving, so ima do it all have a ball while I’m still living and breathing.”
