PSTR Speeder Run
Saturday April 21st 2007
Port Stanley Terminal Railway.

(Above) This is the afternoon speeder line-up in front of Port Stanley station. What is a speeder?
(Above) The morning line up, ready to roll. The PSTR gift shop is on the left and the dinner train is visible behind the speeder cars.
(Above) Two Woodings railcars, the one on the left is a type CBI, on the right is a CBL. Both have modern single cylinder Tecumseh gasoline motors with shaft drive to the rear axle.
(Above) A Fairmont M19 patrol car, the only two-stroke engined car in the run, it has a belt drive. To run in reverse, the engine is reversed, there are no gears.
(Above) A stop enroute at Whytes just before the road crossing.
(Above) Off we go again. Not tailgating, the second car is being towed.
(Above) At a quiet rail/road intersection in downtown St Thomas we stopped and turned the cars for the return trip.
(Above) Back at Port Stanley we inspected the locomotives parked in the PSTR's yard. This is a CLC-Whitcomb 50 ton industrial diesel locomotive with two engines, one at each end.
Thanks to all the guys at the PSTR for hosting the run, we had a great time in perfect weather.
