Coach York College of PA, Clinician Gang Green WC Coach Dominick is a graduate of Bloomsburg University and is in his 11th year coaching the York College wrestling team. His intense efforts on the recruiting trail and attention to detail have helped keep YCP in the national rankings since he joined the staff. Prior to coming to YCP he enjoyed a 17 year high school coaching career that saw him lead both the Susquehannock Warriors and York County School of Technology Spartans. Coach Dominick's foundational beliefs in the solid technical wrestling have allowed him to cousel many well known camps around the state of Pennsylvania. Coach: Duane Bastress, Asst. Coach York College of PA, Clinician Gang Green WC Career Record: 114-21: Career ended with a 65 match winning streak Coach Bastress is a 2006 graduate of York and the program's most successful wrestler ever. He is a 2x NCAA Champion, the 2006 NCAA Most Outstanding Wrestler. His combination of strength, speed, power, and technical know how led to him being ranked #3 among all wrestlers in all divisions as he began his senior year. Wrestlers that train under Coach Bastress are sure to learn that mental toughness is just as large of a part of wrestling as physical toughness. Traveling to Bulgaria in the summer between his junior and senior seasons Duane was able to train in the international style and he concurs that Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling helped make him a better folkstyle wrestler. Coach Cory King, Asst. Coach York College of PA, Clinician Gang Green WC A Mercyhurst College graduate, Cory brings plenty of experience to the Spartan staff. He posted a 30-17 career record at the Division II institution, missing several seasons due to redshirting and injury. King registered a banner season in 2003-2004 as he was named Mercyhurst's first Scholar All-American, finished fifth at Eastern Regionals, and was an alternate for the NCAA tournament that season. King will provide first-class instruction for the Spartans, drawing on his quality experience at the collegiate level. Cory has a top notch leg and cradle series that has led to success for college wrestlers, so there is no reason it cannot work for you. |
