Crossroads Trefoil Guild

Our Trefoil Guild has a membership of approximately 18 and is also a branch of Guiding. Even though our age span is 60 years, we manage to have a great deal in common with each other. We have members who are past and present teachers, past and present nurses, a War Veteran, 2 former Mayors, a former MHA, members originally from other Countries, members of Church choirs, artists, writers and so on. The Trefoil Guild would be a great resource to any level of Guiding.
We do not care to be involved in fundraising but through our Thinking Day tea, we manage each year to give a donation of money to the District.
We have cleaned up the grounds, placed a clock in the hut, helped out with phone calls for the take-out dinners, bought and placed a composter in the backyard and have also established a garden in the front of the Hut.
I’m sure that some of our group would love to be called upon as a resource by any Unit.

This year our Agenda consists of:

-helping our Community by knitting caps and teddy bears for the hospital.

-helping Internationally by collecting friendship pennies. Our goal is to raise one penny on behalf of each person living in Gander and so far, in less than a year, we have almost reached our goal($100.)
We are also doing a form of Treasure Hunt to collect funds for the World centers.

-helping our Canadian soldiers serving in Afghanistan by sending messages of hope for Remembrance Day and collecting items for care packages to be sent for Christmas.

Upcoming Events:
Cooking class
Guest speaker
Making Christmas Centerpieces
Thinking Day Tea (including celebrating the Hut’s 40th Anniversary.)

You see:
Guiders never die; they just change their color, and keep the spirit alive.
