A Culture-Clash Temper Tantrums Portal

Having relocated to Sydney from New York City back in October '02, I've tried to keep up with friends and family via email and weblogs (and occasional phone calls, usually only for events).  It's been largely successful, more so at first than latterly, but still worth doing.  To some degree, the nature of the world has affected the content of my own weblog, (Southern Cross) Words, making it more politically-oriented than it was originally, when it adhered to its "Culture Clash Temper Tantrums" tagline, but because it's meant as a conversation with people who know (or come to know) me, trying to keep its focus purely on my adaptation to my new environment was too limiting, especially given that, while slow, that adaptive process has actually been very easy indeed, despite the cultural differences.  For example, it's strange, but unless someone's accent is very strong, I can barely hear any difference, even while I'm frequently well aware of how my own speech must sound.  As a result, I've been tending more towards the "Other Expository Prose" aspect.

In any event, with the advent of Google pages (and thus the return of "home pages"), I've elected to commence playing with a portal for my on-line life.  To the left, there are links to other (static) Google pages, including some uploaded photos from around town, my "art" project of shopping trolley photos, of course my 'blog, and the memorial to our beloved cat, Bu-Bu.

As other projects suitable for the internet arise, I'll set out new pages and so forth, but updates can only be relied upon at the weblog, and even then, I'm pretty slack, I'll admit.
