About Us, oh and Who's Don?

Early snow, great skiing and sunshine. Life is good. Don and I are heading into our 4th winter at Galena Lodge and are pretty excited about it. After a busy busy summer full of weddings, bike rides and hang out on the deck having a beer we took off with our good friend Kurt for a bike tour down in southern Utah. Incredible dirt road riding down there! Then a quick trip to visit family and friends as well as to celebrate the marriage of our good friends. Now we are back, resting and looking forward to a great winter. It is only Nov 17 and we have been skiing numerous times. Heck, last year we didn't even have snow until almost Christmas. As we head into winter we hope to see everyone up here enjoying this incredible community gem.

So, Who is Don? If you have ever had a Don bar you probably know who is Don. Many people have not had the opportunity to try a delicious and nutritious Don Bar or maybe they are still wondering "Who is Don". Well Don is the talent that hides back in the kitchen making incredible soups and bread.  He is the creator of specials such as the pulled pork on challah and the meat-loaf sandwich (definitely not your moms). He is also the one who is usually plowing the parking lot, helping you put on your skis or snowshoes or stoking the fire to make sure you are warm. So the next time you see Don (you know, the one with the beard) tell him thanks for being Don. Oh and don't forget to try a Don Bar.
