The FFA Agriscience Fair recognizes middle and high school students who are studying the application of scientific principles and emerging technologies in agricultural enterprises. Areas of participation closely mirror those of the International Science and Engineering Fair but reflect an agricultural theme. There are five categories of competition and within each category, there are four divisions. Divisions I and II are individual compeitions, and Divisions III and IV are team competitions. Categories include:
Biochemistry/Microbiology/Food Science
Environmental Science
Zoology
Botany (Plant/Soil Science)
Engineering (Mechanical/Agricultural Engineering Science).
The purpose of the FFA Agriscience Fair is to provide students with an opportunity to use the scientific process, to achieve recognition for accomplishments in agriscience, to reinforce skills learned in agriscience courses and to provide students an opportunity to demonstrate and display agriscience projects that are products of their agriscience courses. State winners advance to national competition held during the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis each October.
The sponsorship cost of each category of competition is $4,287.50. For a detailed budget, please see the attachments below. |
