The Cathedral Senior Boys’ Basketball team would like to thank Adidas for their generous sponsorship of the Gaels yet again in 2008/2009. This year, the players will be sporting Adidas Pro Model 08 in Black. The shoes come with a set of plastic inserts that can be used to customize the colour of the Adidas three stripes on the side. Also, the players received a blue and white gym bag and will be warming up in Adidas Big Time Warmup Jackets. Adidas continues to support Cathedral basketball with over $4000 in merchandise. October 23, 2009 Tryouts Begin On Tuesday Football and Volleyball players can tryout at a later date Cathedral Basketball will begin tryouts this coming Tuesday at 8:30 PM. Players are asked to be in the gym area by 8:00 PM when a meeting will take place. The team has a big season planned, having entered many top tournaments. For the first year in a long time, Cathedral will be hosting their own tournament, appropriately named the Mark Walton Invitational Tournament. The tournament is named for long-time coach and program pioneer Mark Walton and will feature 8 top teams. Confirmed teams are Cathedral, St. Thomas More, Father Henry Carr, Mother Teresa, Martingrove, Loyola (Burlington), Bishop Walsh (Cumberland, MD) and Korah Collegiate (Ste. St. Marie).
