Frequently Asked Questions

1. How old are you?

I am twenty five years old and graduated in 2008 in Fine Art from Kingston University.

2. How much experience do you have? Have you worked with young children before? What is your teaching experience?

I have done work experience at Brentford City Learning Centre on Art Design projects and work experience with Year 4 at Grove Road Primary School, Hounslow. As well as running my Art business I work on a casual basis as an activities worker for Crofters, a play scheme for disabled children.

3. Are you CRB checked?

Yes I hold a current CRB.

4. Can you provide references?

Yes I can provide several, from a former manager and a character reference.

5. What materials do you work with?

Pencils, charcoal, chalk, gouache, acrylic paints, putty rubbers.

6. What projects do you do?

I begin with the basic techniques of drawing, shading, tone etc and  how to use the materials. Once these skills are gradually built up through fun exercises the artist moves on to painting in a similar way. Along the way if anything in particular interests the artist they may spend some time in this area. There will be time spent on the three areas of landscape, portrait and still life in which the artist can concentrate on things such as where they enjoy spending time, their family, themselves and objects that mean something to them.

7. Do you do crafts?

During the holiday Art classes artists may make things such as Mother's Day gifts, Christmas presents and Birthday presents.

8. Do you work with more than one or two people?

I work with one individual or two. I find that children benefit from being one to one or in pairs as this way they are able to learn more through gaining more attention from me.

9. Do you provide materials?

I provide charcoal, chalk, rubbers, a range of pencils, coloured pencils, sharpeners, pens, thicker paper for acrylic paints, some work sheets and notes. The artist should have their own set of basic gouache and acrylic paints with a couple of different sized brushes for each set. Also an A3 sketch pad which contains versatile paper for drawing and gouache paints. I can obtain these materials if the parent wishes for rembursement - if it is of any help.

10. Do you expect a parent to be in the house whilst you are teaching?

I would expect the parent to normally be at home in another room.

11. Do we pay you in advance or after?

For an individual lesson I expect to be paid at the end. For a series of lessons I need prepayment.

12. How do we pay you?

By paypal on my website, by cheque paid out to Sensonido Ltd, cash or bank transfer to Sensonido account.

13. I'd really like my child to make their dad a Birthday present, is this possible?
