Gabrielle Dakers

I graduated with a BA (Hons) Fine Art in Summer 2008. Now I offer private tuition in drawing and painting at home.  My business is called Gabby's Home Art Studio. For extra information take a look at Frequently Asked Questions.

I grew up in Brentford in West London.  Brentford is where the River Thames and River Brent meet. Julius Caesar is thought to have crossed the Thames here during his invasion of Britain. The artist William Turner and Pocahontas lived in Brentford for a time. Notable places are Syon House, Boston Manor House, Brentford Dock, The Grand Union CanalBrentford Library, Brentford BathsThe Musical Museum, The Butts SquareSt Lawrence's Church and Griffin Park. The Great West Road has some interesting Art Deco buildings, Westlink House, Gillette Corner and is where the UK GlaxoSmithkline headquarters are situated.  Brentford has been known for it's pubs for a long time, ones still here today such as The Beehive, The Brewery Tap, The Weir, which used to be The White Horse where William Turner's uncle lived, The Albany Arms and The  Magpie and Crown.

In my spare time - apart from spending time with friends and family - I have done voluntary work with Feed The Hungry Heart and Oxfam.  These are both charities I still support.

I enjoy going on short holidays, here is my wish list of other destinations I want to explore!  I love painting, visiting Art galleries ,  gardening, cooking, spending time with my cats and attending the ocassional football match, music gig or theatre performance. I enjoy nature and being outdoors.
