Chapter 545 - Fredericksburg, Virginia
Headquartered out of the Fredericksburg Masonic Lodge, mother lodge to our Illustrious Brother George Washington and other heroes and patriots of the American Revolution, Chapter 545 is enriched and entrenched in American history and has a long tradition of good service to carry on.
During the War for Independence, Fredericksburg Freemasonry devoted resources, funding and ninety-four of its own members to the cause of Liberty, to include names such as Washington, Hugh Mercer, George Weedon, William Woodford, Fielding Lewis, Gustavus Wallace, Thomas Posey , Charles Dick and John Julian.
Every one of them gave of their fortune by choosing to raised up both their arms and working tools to this cause and yes, some of them forever laid their working tools down to this end. Never have these sacrifices been in vain, but we must ever remember.
Therefore as the inheritors of this noble heritage, we will continue to meet our Masonic obligation of assisting others, especially our Armed Forces, while educating our citizens and children through our programs and presentations on Americanism.
This is our mandate, our purpose, and our desire. Thank you.

President's Message
Brethren, first let rt by thanking the outgoing President, Brother Shelby Chandler for a great Sojourner year!! Shelby worked very hard to move the Chapter forward, and he did so in fine form.
Next, I would say thank you for allowing me the honor of leading the Chapter this upcoming year. I have no doubt we will have a great year!! My year has already started off with a bang. Installation night was outstanding, and I was glad to see such a great turnout for Congressman Robb Wittman's guest appearance. A special thanks to our then National First VP William G.L. Turner, who did an outstanding job as the installing officer. Thank you Brother Bill!
As I stated at the June meeting my goals this year for the Chapter are simple. They are as follows...
1. Good Fun and Good Fellowship above all else
2. Membership – Initiate 5 New Members into the Chapter/ Initiate 2 New Heroes
3. Member Education and Development – Operate a minimum of 2 flag presentation seminars to allow more members to learn and become comfortable doing programs. All Members to have Sojourner Literature (handbooks, rosters, by-laws, etc), All Line Officers to have Chapter Officers Handbook and understand their role in the Chapter. New Member “Orientation” done for all new members
4. Community Good Will – Continued Support of Chapter #44 with Holiday Baskets $300 Minimum Toys for Tots – Minimum of 300 Toys donated, Perform 10 Flag programs throughout the year Sponsor One Student for Freedoms Foundation Continued support of local JROTC programs Visit 2 other Chapters throughout the year
Well, that's it for now as we have a lot of work to do!! I again, I look forward to a great year, and lots of fun!!
