The Case for Tasers

Lately there has been several negative news stories about the results of an incident involving a stun gun. It is no different than The old Car vs. Flying (plane) sensationalism.

The news that we see here is no different. Media is quick to sensationalize the crash of an otherwise proven mode of travel (air).
When every day, people loose their lives or get seriously injured in traffic accidents, teens drink and drive, adults drink and drive. Yet air travel gets the big news because we are now indifferent to hearing/reading about traffic deaths & accidents.

Same goes here with TASR, a far safer alternative to traditional fire-arms usage.

So maybe this is what we should all take from reading/hearing about an incident with Taser usage....that if a gun had been used, the results would have been guaranteed 99.9% deadlier.

Accidents and deaths can happen with the use of any tool (including a pen or pencil), but with a Taser in the hands of law enforcement, the likelihood that the results will be life, are far far higher than the same situation when a gun as the only tool available. Also, with a Taser, only one person is likely to be affected, where-as with a gun, more than one person can get hurt or killed in the ensuing incident.

So next time you read news about an incident with a Taser product, think about all the shootings that fatally happen, continually... day and night, with a firearm.

For every fatal firearm shooting, chaulk up another... for the need for Taser products.

Unfortunately for some investors they'll not get in on time to reap the benefits of including TASR in their portfolio. This is because they only read one side of the news. Most news as you know is negative. What the media seldom prints these days is the far more positive side of reality. That is why I seldom read newspapers for instance.

So investors that take advantage of recessionary prices, and the fact 2009 budgets are now being spent on Taser products, will see $$ in the long term.

TASER International, Inc. (TASER) develops and manufactures advanced electronic control devices (ECDs) designed for use in the law enforcement, military, corrections, private security and personal defense markets. The Company makes ECDs for two main types of market segments; the law enforcement, military, corrections and professional security markets, and the consumer market. TASER's ECDs use propelled wires or direct contact to conduct energy to affect the sensory and motor functions of the nervous system. Its products use a replaceable cartridge containing compressed nitrogen to deploy two small probes that are attached to the ECD by insulated conductive wires with lengths ranging from 15 to 35 feet. TASER's ECDs transmit electrical pulses along the wires and into the body affecting the sensory and motor functions of the peripheral nervous system.
