This website is written by Brett Mahar. I began practicing tai chi in Australia in 1993. I teach both Fu and Sun styles of tai chi in New York. Call 646-371-5533 or email brettmahar@yahoo.com for further information. My main tai chi instructor was William Yeung in Sydney. Before this I learned from a student of Gary Khor's, in Broadbeach, Australia. I have also attended some seminars at Bow Sim Mak's school in Boston, and taken some private lessons with Liang Qiang Ya in San Francisco. From 1993 to 1999 I had individual instruction in the Yang, Sun and Fu styles of tai chi, chi gung, and Fu style pa kwa from William Yeung, a 4th generation disciple of Fu Chen Sung. Other students were learning Fu style h'sing yi, pa kwa, Chen, Fu and Yang styles of tai chi at this time, so I had the opportunity to observe these styles being taught and practiced as I practiced. Related to this, I have learnt swedish and remedial massage, zen shiatsu (Japanese nerve-point massage), and some yoga. My email: brett.mahar@unswalumni.com In my daily life, I am do accounting for investment banks and "broker/dealers" (stockbrokers and investment advisors). I have a BA in Political Science and Film, and a Masters in Professional Accounting, both from the University of New South Wales. I have also studied at University of Queensland & the Australian National University. My other interests include science fiction, film, neuroscience, politics & finance. Hope you like the site!
