Behavior Consultations

What's your dog problem?  Does your dog have behavior issues affecting the quality of his or his human’s lives?  I can assist dogs with fear issues, separation anxiety, hyper-active behavior, chronic house training problems, handling/grooming problems, or aggression issues towards other dogs or people.  Don't loose patience with your pet.  A short phone consultation is followed by a 1-2 hour in home consultation.  Most dogs will need 2-3 follow up visits (lasting about an hour) over the next few months to ensure the success of the behavior modification program.  $100 for initial consultation, $50 for follow up sessions  More Info

Board & Train

Some manners and commands require more time to teach than can be fulfilled in normal training sessions, or need quicker improvement than can be done in a normal busy household by the owner.  Living with the dog helps to assess and address behavior and relationship issues more in-depth than in short consultations, leading to quicker and better results for you.  If you are going on vacation - send your dog to learn a new trick or to refresh his obedience skills.  8-10 week old puppies get a head start on socialization, housetraining, and obedience, preventing problems before they start, and make adjustment into a new home much easier.  Limited availability as dogs are not kenneled and brought out solely to train, but are instead integrated into my daily life and dog pack.    $200-350/week depending on the type of training needed.  More Info

In-Home Training

Don’t have the time or dedication to attend a group dog training class, or to follow up with training at home on your own?  Need your own personal trainer to keep you and your dog on track?  Have you attended group class before but your dog is still lacking manners or doesn’t obey in his comfortable home environment?  Wish your dog knew basic commands like Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Go to your Place, or some cute tricks like Shake Hands or Roll-Over?  Does your dog need to learn not to jump up on visitors or not to bolt out your door?  This solution is ideal since the training occurs where the dog’s behavior needs to occur!  Dogs need mental stimulation to be happy and to be able to focus to be a well behaved pet.  Day-training is a great option for dogs not suitable for daycare or if you do not have time yourself to work with your dog daily and would prefer to just be able to relax together after you get home.  Your participation is not always necessary or required, although after a behavior, command, or trick is taught, I will need to teach you how to give the commands and teach your dog to respond to them from you as well as myself (sometimes that is the most difficult part!)  $50 per session normally lasting 45-60 minutes. Tricks & Games

Both dogs and people enjoy tricks & games!  Would you like your dog to have some tricks to show off to your family and friends?  How about some fun games to play together?  Are you looking to provide enrichment to your dog's life?  Some tricks become fun jobs for your dog to do for you around the house like recycling or fetching the newspaper that make them a more useful companion as well as enriching their daily life.  A tricks & games session is also a good alternative to walking if the weather is poor - mental activity will tire them out as well.  More Info

Consultations to select the correct breed for your family, and in assisting in selecting a dog from a rescue organization are available for a nominal charge and sometimes may be free.

Service Area / Mileage – no charge for locations within 30 minutes of my residence in Liberty Township.  This includes most of Hamilton,
Fairfield, Forest Park, West Chester, Trenton, Monroe and other parts of northern Cincinnati. $5 per additional 15 minutes.
