Held in Jordan and now in its fifth year, the 2012 Full Moon Desert Marathon remains a competitive event suitable for amateurs and professionals alike. This marathon can be used by professionals as cross-training in preparation for other more challenging events such as the Marathon des Sables in Morocco. In 2012 the FMDM continues to avail itself of the assistance of Jordan's No1 4x4 Club that will ensure safety and logistical coordination. STATUS UPDATES October 30th, 2011 - As of this date, all information on the Full Moon Marathon as well as all other Flashback Adventures events is to be obtained from our main website: www.flashback-adventures.com May 30th, 2011 - The 2011 FMDM classification along with some pictures are now on our main website. (website under construction so bear with us). May 16th, 2011 - As we reflect on the 4th edition of the Full Moon Desert Marathon now behind us, we cannot help but look back upon it with a certain degree of satisfaction safe in the knowledge that participants will enjoy (be afflicted) by flashbacks for some time to come. Our work here having been completed, Flashback Adventures can now set about planning the next edition of the FMDM looking forward to sort out the kinks we ran into this last time and providing you with some more wacky unexpected fun and adventure. Next up is the Mad Dog Desert Marathon on September 3rd followed in December by a new surprise event. In January our calendar of activities kicks off once again with the SPANA charity run that will be followed by some new exciting events. Also, our new website should go live in the next few days. If you are not running/walking but are just along to spectate the full catering option is JD90 March 27th, 2011 Due to the very generous support of ASEZA, we can now also offer transport from Aqaba/Petra/Amman to Wadi Rum on the day of the event and back the next day. Seats are limited and will be attributed on a first come first served basis with priority given to participants traveling from overseas. For some reason it will not accept the date of May 14th... so, no, the marathon date has not changed we are on for May 14th. LOL May 10th, 2010 - Just over two weeks to go for the run folks. This coming Thursday I'll be down in Wadi Rum to plot the course. Since there seems to be a good number of 10Km shufflers, we are planning to have the 10Km leg of the run finish at camp. 21 and 42 Km runners/walkers will then proceed on to another loop eventually returning to camp. May 3rd, 2010 clarification... - There appears to be lots of hand-wringing from the 10Km crowd whom feel they will be abandoned at the mercy of the desert sands because they see no indication that a 10Km trail is contemplated. Here is the thing. Within the longer 21 and 42 Kilometer loops, a 10Km trail is contemplated to the extent that there will be a station at the 10Km way point. Depending on how many participants wish to shuffle only to the 10Km station, we will have vehicles to pick you up and drive you to camp... April 26th, 2010 inquiry... - OK... I give up...
