Mission: Organized in 1982, the purpose of the guild is to provide a supportive environment for persons interested in weaving, spinning, knitting and other fiber arts and to teach and promote the knowledge and use of fiber arts in the community.Members of the guild participate at various fairs, take part in demonstrations at local schools and are active in The Living Legacies Exhibit sponsored by APVA in Fredericksburg. FSWG is a member guild of the Handweaver's Guild of America (www.weavespindye.org) Meetings:
Meetings are generally held the first Saturday of each calendar month, except for May (conflicts with the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival) and October (conflicts with the Fall Fiber Festival). Our meetings start at 10:00 AM, beginning with business matters, then show-and-tell, refreshments, and visiting with one another. A program or activity is scheduled after each meeting for no or very low cost.

Dues/Membership:
Dues are $25.00 annually, per person. Membership application is available at the bottom of this page as a PDF document.
Equipment/Studio Space Rental: some studio space is available for monthly rental from the guild. Having a space in the studio provides a peaceful and inspiring place to weave or spin! The guild also has a wide variety of equipment available for rental at very reasonable fees.
