Some Privileges and Responsibilities

In the two columns below you will find a basic list of some of the privileges and related responsibilities which are yours as a member of the First Family.

Some Privileges of Church Membership   Some Responsibilities of Church Membership
You are part of the First Family. Remember that everywhere you go, your behavior is showing people what the First Family is like - so act accordingly.
You have a voice in all "Family Discussions" (business meetings). You are responsible to pray concerning every decision made by the Family, and to keep yourself informed through the information received in the mailouts, and by asking questions of your leaders.
You can call upon your fellow Family members for counsel and guidance and help with your spiritual growth, as well as your emotional and material needs. You fellow members have the privilege of calling upon you for your help in the same areas.  You are urges to attend the Sunday morning, Sunday evening and Wednesday gatherings, for the purpose of mutual encouragement, as well as worship and Bible Study, etc.
You can call upon your leaders in the Family for the same kind of help mentioned above. Your leaders can call upon you for assistance in meeting the needs of your fellow members.
You have the privilege of developing your spiritual gifts and ministry through the church program under the direction of church leadership.
This privilege is also a responsibility - you must not sit around and wait to be asked.  Go to the proper leader and offer your assistance.
In cases of real need or emergency, you may ask your deacons for confidential assistance from our Benevolence Fund. While we don't ask anyone to sign a "pledge", we do strongly encourage each member to give at least a tenth of his or her income through the church offering so that needs (as well as others, such as salaries, literature, missions, etc.) may be met.
