To close out the month - specifically on May 30, 2010 (yes, we know that it's Memorial Day Weekend, but it's the only time we could have our beloved brother, Reverend George Mbulo, who is here on a brief trip to the United States from Zambia), beginning at 5:00 PM, we'll enjoy a Potluck Dinner, and we'll continue at 6:30 PM with Reverend Mbulo's illustrated presentation about what God is doing in the lives of youngsters who have been orphaned by the AIDS epidemic in Zambia.

We are having another joyful, Spirit-filled All-Music Evening of Praise on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at 6:30 PM. Please be here and be blessed by all the gifted musicians that God has given to the First Family and those include "The Worship Jammers" (aka our Children's Choir!). This is a great evening to invite some folks that you know that might not otherwise be interested in attending a "regular church service". (NOTE: Munchies will be service following the service!)

Spring has sprung and Summer is just 'round the bend, and we are getting excited for VBS-2010 (set for Monday, July 12 through Friday, July 16, 2010). Based on James 1:5 this year our theme will be "Saddle Ridge Ranch - Roundin' Up Questions, Drivin' Home Answers."
If you have a hankerin' to saddle up & join the VBS team as we use this fun-filled week to minister (in the Name of Jesus, of course!) to the children that will attend our VBS, then please call Amie Roll (see your Church directory for her phone number) and let her know you're ready to dig in & help at "Saddle Ridge Ranch" VBS!

Once again, we will be celebrating our annual "Women's Sunday" this Lord's Day, May 9, 2010. We know that this Sunday is also called "Mother's Day," but we believe that all women need to be honored on this occasion, those who are mothers as well as those who are not.
So, we're gong to be giving away a small gift to every woman who attends one of our Sunday Worship services (8:30 AM, 11:00 AM, or 6:30 PM). We want each woman who attends to know that she is special, and that we appreciate her!
Also, we will have copies of Pastor Charles' booklet "Thank God for Women" available in the narthex for anyone (male or female) to take.
In addition, Pastor Charles will be back in the pulpit (after what we hope was a restful and relaxing vacation week with Sandra) to bring us a message entitled "Thank God for Women" at both our 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM Worship services. |

All women are invited to attend our Women's Prayer Tea on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the blue room. Our format has changed a little bit, but our focus is still on Christ! So, ladies, let's get together and see how the Lord can work through us!

Our nation has set aside this particular day (the first Thursday of May) as a special time for us to focus on our opportunity to petition God on behalf of our leaders and those who are in authority over us, as we are instructed to do in 1 Timothy 2:1-2.
As you humbly come before the Lord and seek His face on this day, please pray that the above mentioned men and women will be granted divine wisdom, guidance and strength to fulfill their important roles. (If they weren't already on your prayer list, this would be a good time to place these same folks on your personal daily prayer list.) |
