Local Information

Travel

The closest Airport is the Detroit Metro Airport. It is located about 20 miles west of Ann Arbor. The easies (and only) way to get from Ann Arbor to the Airport is by taxi or shuttle: A half hour ride costing around $50 by taxi.

A recommended shuttle company is Custom Transit:
(734)971-5555
http://www.customtransit.com/
It is much cheaper, especially if you are traveling with a group.

Parking

The closest lot to the Mathematics department  (which is open to the public) is the Forest street parking garage.
It is about a block from East Hall (the mathematics department).

Getting around Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor is a beautiful place, especially around the end of May. Here are some random suggestions to wind down after, or before, a long day of great talks.
  • A very nice place to go for a walk is the Nichols Arboretum. The closest entrance from Campus is located at Geddes Ave and indicated on the above map.
  • The Michigan Theater is a historic movie theater with a interesting lineup of movies. Worth a visit for both, the film and the location.
