We have also:
§Written to Prince William, Gordon Brown, David Cameron, Boris Johnson, Sebastian Coe and Max Clifford. Prince William and Max Clifford are well known ex-players.
§ Contacted the Times, Mirror, Mail, Express and Telegraph. § Contacted the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky TV § Set up ‘friends of water polo’ website § Set up petition for water polo on Downing Street website. § Opened up dialogue with the NWPL and NWWPL. § Present to NWPL AGM on 11th January. § Met with UK Sport on 16th January. § Contacted Charity Commission with a view to applying for registered Charity status. § Set up up bank account whereby contributors can make individual donations or pay in proceeds of fund raising activities with all the required safeguards. Finalised trustees as guardians of the fund.
§ Written to leading sporting personalities asking for donations of signed kit and memorabilia together with letters of support. The memorabilia to be auctioned to raise funds.
§ Written to Britain’s leading companies asking for financial donations to aid our cause. § Continued to lobby funding bodies, MP’s and anyone we feel is able to offer help or influence. § Set financial targets and met with GB Water Polo Staff and Players to discuss how any monies raised may be spent or allocated. § Producing mailing/cascade list in order to ensure water polo community is made aware of what we are trying to achieve and how they might help.
