Election Update:
The referendum vote did not go the way we had hoped. Of course, those of us who worked so long and so hard to bring a full service library to the Cottage Grove community are disappointed. The Friends will be continuing their efforts to eventually bring a full service, permanent library to Cottage Grove. Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm (See letter to the editor below).
On Tuesday, November 4, 2008, voters in the Village of Cottage Grove were asked to vote yes or no on the following advisory referendum question.
"Shall the Village of Cottage Grove Board provide $3,000,000 in funding to the Cottage Grove Library Board for the purpose of constructing, furnishing and equipping a Community Library to be located in the Village of Cottage Grove?"
A YES vote tells the Village Board you support the Board using tax dollars to help fund the building of a permanent library. The Board will determine and approve the final amount.
