Teacher Man is his hilarious, touching, inspiring remembrance of those years of teaching--and learning. The evening consisted of readings from the book by the author and some performances by Hamilton Heights School students, and was held in the auditorium of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Here in Harlem: A Book Celebration to Benefit Hamilton Heights AcademyMonday, May 9, 2005Here in Harlem is a gorgeous book of short poems and archival photographs that provides a glimpse into Harlem's past as seen through its people, written by award-winning author, Walter Dean Myers. The evening consisted of readings from the book by the author as well as notable Harlem actors and was held in a lovely Harlem brownstone. |
