FOCAS is 21 years old this year and Carlisle Archives also celebrates its golden jubilee. Cumbria Archives are marking this with a varied programme of events and FOCAS are organsing a number of visits and talks for its members. Saturday 19 May 10am-12.30pm Visit to King's Own Border Regiment Archive, Carlisle Castle There is a vast accumulation of memorabilia in the museum but few people realise that there is also a voluminous archive of material dealing with local regimental history as well as very detailed records of the men who served. This is not only a must for family historians in our membership but it will certainly appeal to anyone who wants to know what our local lads did for queen and country.
