You're probably wondering why a publishing company would be interested in the promotion of locally sourced, fresh produce.  Well, there are two main reasons.

Firstly there's the issue that locally grown and fresh produce is much better than produce which has travelled half of the globe before finding its way into your shopping trolley and eventually into you and your family.  It is likely better value than similar products bought from supermarkets and helps to reduce your carbon footprint.

Secondly it's supporting local farmers and growers in delivering quality and diverse produce.  Supermarkets, though claiming to offer a wealth of choice in the products available to you, are in fact extremely selective in the varieties and the sizes of fresh produce which they stock.  Without small businesses and regional growers, many of the native varieties of fruit and vegetables previously available in this country would disappear.

We therefore feel that we would like to bring together our web hosting and web design companies to offer a free resource for local and small farmers and growers across the United Kingdom.  Inspired by programmes such as Rick Stein's Food Heroes and Great British Menu, the knowledge of food and especially local produce is on the increase.
