We reached the final and drew - then it was to the penalties - unfortunately this is where we took second place against 50th north Devon Scouts. Our Beaver team reached the same position against 1st Chivenor. However, one of our Cub teams came 1st and won the shield and also each player took home a medal. Brilliant.
Hurdlestone Challenge 2011:
What an amazing result - both of our teams gained a 1st place in one of the Hurdlestone Challenge bases - the only team in North Devon to achieve this in 2011 - the last group to do that was us again a few years back in 2008. FANTASTIC!!!

Our amazing Scouts.
One of our Scouts (DS) has been selected by Devon during an intensive weekend to join the Devon contingent to go to the Jamboree in Sweden.
The weekend had over 90 Scouts from across Devon and 36 were selected through a tough process. Only 2 were selected from North Devon, so it was a tough process.

How simple is that?
1st Fremington Air Scouts on Saturday 13th June 2009 became the North Devon District 5-a-side champions. This was for a fourth year running.
The team was looking a little short with initially only 4 players at the start of the afternoon, but then with last minute arrangements two extra Fremington players were found, and they were all cracking players.
The Fremington Formula with their shield and medals.
The team consisted of Luke C, Daniel S, Freddie S, Peter W, Ollie P and Cameron. Well done to them all for all their hard work and determination, especially one was injured earlier in the week and another was poorly, but got the team to the semi-finals playing 50th A, whilst the other semi-finalists Tawstock and 1st North Devon battled.
In the final, Fremington faced 1st North Devon and both teams played extremely well. One of the 1st North Devon Scouts really did keep determined as he was injured in the last half, but still kept played - well done to that young man.
Well done to all the organisers, referees, leaders and supporters for their dedication.
