Townsville Masonic Fete

The Masonic Fete and Art Union Raffle not only support the residents of the Townsville Masonic Village but also charities and benevolent projects in the district. In the last three years the Masonic Fete Committee has donated over $26,000 to worthy causes including the Royal Flying Doctors Service and the Cyclone Larry Appeal.

The fete was held at the Masonic Village in August. It was officially opened at midday by the District Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Ian MacKenzie. The fete was a great success with over a thousand visitors buying plants, produce, cakes, crafts and more. At 2pm the Art Union Raffle was drawn with winners recieving prizes including:
  • $1500 Ryland’s Mitre 10
  • $500 Gary Thyer’s Betta Electrical

We are very grateful to Ryland's Mitre 10, Gary Thyer's Betta Electrical and all of the other businesses who donated prizes and money.

The committee and other volunteers begin covering the stalls in preparation for a great turn out.

The plant stall is ready to go

The produce stall is a real draw card for the fete. Produce is donated by farmers throughout the North Queensland district.

Some of the gents are packing the produce in preparation of a grand turn out. This is back breaking work!

The office is well staffed. Here the fete becomes a series of float tallies, coffee mugs and raffle ticket stubs. We couldn't do it without them!
