PTA EXECUTIVE BOARD (OFFICER) DESCRIPTIONS
2008 - 2009

 

 

President

 

The president shall preside at all meetings; serve as an ex-officio member of all committees (except nominating and audit).  The president shall appoint standing committee chairs with approval of the executive committee.  The president may also appoint special committees with the approval of the executive committee.  The president must be able to coordinate and delegate varies committees and duties so the purposes of the PTA may be accomplished.  The president shall oversee the committee coordinating the Open House at the beginning of the school year.  The president shall be responsible for submitting PTA information into Freedom newsletter in a timely manner. The president shall be one of the signers on the checking account.  The president shall have a current copy of our by-laws and a current membership list.  The president shall oversee and support certain committees that have been delegated to this position.

 

 

Vice President

 

The vice president shall serve as an aide to the president; perform the duties of the president in his/her absence.  The vice president must be able to coordinate and delegate so the purposes of the PTA may be accomplished.  The vice president will coordinate babysitting for meetings.  The vice president shall be one of the signers on the checking account.  The vice president shall have a current copy of our by-laws and a current membership list.  The vice president shall oversee and support certain committees that have been delegated to this position.

 

 

Secretary

 

The secretary shall record, file and maintain all minutes and records of all meetings of the PTA.  The secretary shall perform miscellaneous secretarial duties for the executive board as needed.  The secretary shall conduct a monthly review of financials. The secretary shall have a current copy of our by-laws and a current membership list.  The secretary shall oversee and support certain committees that have been delegated to this position.

 

 

Treasurer

 

The treasurer shall maintain a full account of the funds of our PTA.  The treasurer shall have custody of all funds of the association.  The treasurer will make disbursements as authorized and in accordance with the budget of our PTA.  Keep a full and accurate record of the receipts and disbursements.  Shall be responsible for the maintenance of such books of account and records as conform to the requirement of Article VII, Section 4, of the bylaws in accordance with the budget adopted by the association.  Provide a financial report at each board meeting.  The treasurer will provide an annual report of the financial condition of the organization following the annual audit.  The treasurer will have an audit completed by an auditing committee within 30 days of the close of the fiscal year and file all required taxes with in 4 months of the close of that fiscal year.  The treasurer shall be one of the signers on the checking account.
