FREE WEB HOSTING REVIEWS OF THE BEST SERVICES

Welcome to our new free hosting review site.

Our goal is to educate users about the pros and cons of free hosting today. Years and years ago...say around 1998 or so - there was a batch of free web space companies that offered great service. Today, there are hundreds offering free web space.

How do you find the highest quality free web hosting services?

Top Cheap Service

1. When searching for a free host you need to look at how long they have been around. What good is it to put your website and brand yourself with a subdomain on someone elses site if they disappear. So many people start a free hosting service and over promise the product or their capabilities and they can't survive. This is due to high server costs, bandwidth costs, and many other factors.

2. Look at the free web hosting and see if they have reviews on the web - if they don't have people talking about them - they probably aren't large enough to get noticed. Size Matters in Hosting! Safety in numbers here. Go where others go.  If they don't get talked about and they say they are large - buyer beware. It's easy to make false claims on the internet because people don't bother to verify the information they read online.

3. Do they require some kind of advertising to be placed on your website? They should. A free hosting company can't survive without revenue. There has to be some kind of incentive for them. Some try to upgrade their users to paid services while others promise no ads and they don't offer a paid product - how could they stay open for very long.

4. Get a free hosting account where you can associate your own domain. This way if you the free host goes out of business you don't have people linking to your old subdomain (bob.whateverhostnamehere.com). So if you are forced to upgrade and go with paid hosting or find another free web host you can keep those inbound links active. The major search engines don't like seeing backlinks that are broken and this is a good way to prevent someone else hijacking your traffic either.

5. Who owns the network? Do they have good support contact methods? Do they offer user forums, support files, email contact, phone contact and any other questions need to be answered.  Don't just assume they will take care of you.

Free web hosting has become a thing of the past for the most part. Many networks have issues with spammers, adult sites, friendster layouts, and many other types of problem sites. You should investigate the network you're sitting on. You'll share an IP and disk space with them - so do you really want to be associated with that kind of traffic - the users might not associate you, but search engines and bots will. They look beyond what you can see with your eyes - they look into the background info and what is hidden behind the scenes.
