This website is a student project completed for the upper division English
course, TechnoRomanticism, at San Jose State University.

Each student was assigned a chapter of Mary Shelley's 1818 version of Frankenstein to annotate. The full list of chapters can be found here.

My site focuses on Volume 2, chapter 2. I have chosen to annotate this chapter with links, pictures and excerpts of other writings relating to terror and the sublime. My goal is to use the chapter to demonstrate the connection between these Romantic ideas, and how they are still relevant today. Please see the About page for my rationale with more information about my goal.

As you read through volume 2, chapter 2, I hope you will find my annotations informative and thought provoking. I have also included some of my other projects from the course of the semester. Finally, be sure to check out the works cited page for the list of books, images and other sources I used to build this website. This list may prove useful should you yourself decide to pursue Frankenstein further.

I hope you enjoy my little experiment.
