Wendy's, Olathe, 3 wm My family was a McD's family, but as two boys became teenagers, I think we strayed from McD's, to eat at Wendy's a time or two, in Sioux Falls, SD. But this Wendy's, in Olathe KS, is where I first really paid attention to Wendy's, and visited a significant number of times. I am surprised at my memories of this place. It had, of course, the tables with old time newspaers on the Formica surface, and lots of wood accents. I believe I even remember the long strings of beads in the windows. I am not making this up! In about 1984 it got a salad bar which sacrificed quite a few seats, but by then they had built on the side room, shown. The salad bar was popular for several years, and then it was gone. Wendy's, N. EDIT: Lightened version of this scene, as the original photo was a joke. This Wendy's is an older model--It probably had the beads hanging in the front windows in the 70's! (I don't know if it's really THAT old.) You can't see it in the pic, but the brick is not painted, inside this vestibule, and it just shouts "Wendy's." It's wedged in between an active Captain D's Seafood on the south, and the old Taco Bell, now China Dragon, on the north.
