Medway House Diaper Drop Currently Medway house shelters several little ones in
diapers. They are most in need of the larger sizes, especially sizes 5 and
6 . Life in a
shelter does not lend itself to potty training, so many homeless children
are not successfully trained until a family gets settled in their own
place. Understandably, for many UUs, supplying "un-green" items such as disposable diapers may seem counter to our efforts to become good stewards of the environment. However, the need at Medway House is quite real. For reasons of health and the well-being of those forced to live in close quarters, disposable diapers provide the best solution for young families already under considerable stress. There is a box for your generous donations in the front
entry of the church. Thank you for all your assistance this year and for
helping the smallest residents of Medway House once again. Medfield Food Pantry Each month the Medfield Food Pantry divides up their
needs between the supporting organizations and then tells First Parish
what they need from us. Each church has a unique list of items that they
are asked to purchase and contribute. The food pantry coordinator sends
out emails letting the congregation know what is needed. Please bring
your donations and leave them in the box in the vestibule of the church. Guest at Your Table Each year the Social Action committee distributes a
box to each family for the annual collection to support the Unitarian
Universalist Service Committee (UUSC). For more information, see Guest
at Your Table.
Walk for Hunger / Little Red Wagon Walk for Hunger First Parish Medfield supports the Walk for Hunger (Project Bread) and the local Little Red
Wagon Walk for children in the church. Cellphones First Parish collects used cell phones to be
distributed to those who need them. There is a box in the vestibule to
collect the cell phones.
