Ms. Scudero's Sixth Grade and Mrs. Brooks' Fourth Grade honored a Native leader. She was instrumental in passing the Anti-Discrimination Act of 1945.
Peratrovich spoke of living the life of a second-class citizen, and she condemned the “superior race” attitude of some of the senators. The Senate erupted in thunderous applause at the end of her address, and the Alaska Civil Rights Act was passed by a vote of 11-5.


We had Bavarian Cream cake, deviled eggs, chips, cookies, salmon and egg sandwiches. Along with a beverages
