Garden House Accommodation

The Garden House

Self-contained accommodation on South Island’s most southerly coast

The  House

NZ History: the former Fortrose schoolhouse, built in 1938, now relocated to our farm garden. Lofty ceilings, polished native wood floors, a home with many stories to tell.

One double room, one twin and spare beds.  Electric blankets, all linen supplied.  Yunca wood fire, fully-equipped kitchen, good books, art, games, trampoline, TV and radio.

The  Farm -----The Beach

Behind the house, green pastureland rolls down to the Ocean.

You have private access to a long stretch of deserted southern coastline.  The beach offers solitude and endless interest in the way of birdlife, rocks and shells.

You can build a summer bonfire on the sand and watch the sun go down over Foveaux Strait.

From Fortrose - 5km, Waipapa Point - 11km, Curio Bay - 30km, Invercargill - 50km.

Tariff

2008-9  Season: Two people $130 per day, four $160
