In Western NC, Haywood Community College is the only community college offering degree programs in Natural Resources--Fish and Wildlife Management, Forest Management, Geospatial, Pulp and Paper, and Horticulture Technology. This grant was to assist the college in finding faculty with the experience and requisite academic credentials, recruiting specialists to help in developing a series of new courses for traditional and on-line delivery, acquiring library and materials support, and the equipment necessary for hands-on-learning.
