Forestech began providing specialist technical and IT services in 1992. It was incorporated in January 1997.

Initially the company was based Christchurch New Zealand, a country with  a long history technology based solutions for farming and forestry.

Today, Forestech still has its software development team based in New Zealand, but the main office has been relocated to Jakarta, Indonesia. From this location we can better serve our international clientelle, especially the rapidly growing Asian economies.

Forestech' has serviced clients in over 25 countries  in Australasia, Asia,  the Pacific and Africa.

George Kuru graduated in 1987 with post-graduate degree from the University of Canterbury specialising in growth and yield modeling.

He founded Forestech in 1992 . Initially the company focused on growth modeling and technical advisory work. It then began developing specialist IT solutions for forestry and agriculture.

George is MD of the company, and leads the IT systems design business.
