Welcome to my online journal. That's all I've got for now...sorry.

So, I went back.
It is good, oh so good. And when the weather is nice you can sit out in the Biergarten.
I also had an experience with sitting in the family waiting room in a hospital.
Recently my wife had a laparoscopic outpatient procedure done. Now, I am the one with the health issues. I have a heart defect and various other things, so I am used to hospitals. I am not used to hospital family waiting rooms. How do you healthy people stand sitting there not knowing?
Nothing else to add. I love bier and hate hospital waiting rooms. What else should I say? |

So we visited a German restaraunt in Newport, KY this past weekend. It is called Hofbrauhaus. They had absolutely delicious beer.
And they served them in 1 liter glass steins (pictured above). I love a brewery that only serves drinks in half liters and liters.

So, I bought Rock Band 2 over the weekend, and I love it. It fixes every issue I had with the original game. I'll fully review it later. Also, we are dog-sitting two cocker spaniels. They have to be the dumbest dogs I have ever seen. The fact that the male and my male chihuahua are battling for dominance by humping each other is rather disturbing. |

We had our second appointment with a fertility doctor. They're doing more testing, this time on me (use your imagination), but I have no clue what we will wind up doing. There is still a lot more to try before this gets crazy or expensive. I hope we figure this out. While I was never crazy about kids before I did hope to have them before I turned 30. Too late for that.
Assuming we get this worked out now I will be nearly 50 by the time our child will graduate high school. With my heart I wonder, will I see it? I'm not being depressing, or not tryying to be, but honestly I never thought I would see 30. Too many family members with heart-related deaths, and I started with a headstart. I'm counting my blessings and asking for a few more. Priorities change over time, and it wasn't until I met my wife that growing old became one for me. That's even more important as we try to become parents.
Oh well, back to figuring out where I put these car codes into Burnout Paradise. |

Today I chose to launch my own Google site to create an online journal. I refuse to call it a blog. Weblog, maybe, but blog annoys me. It is an online journal. I will write what I want on here and post when I post other things other new headers, such as Video Games and Movies. I will not discuss work or friends and family. This is the Internet not a therapy session. I love my relationships and my job. I do not intend to be one of those people who gets fired or loses friends for posting stupid crap online. If I wanted to do that I would have a Facebook or MySpace page.
Speaking of, if you know me you know I do not have Facebook or a MySpace, nor will I. I talk to the people I want to talk to, and have done so for years without the benefits of social networking sites. Many times in my life I moved on from one place to another (high school to college, from college to another college, etc) and only kept in touch with a handful of people. In some cases I just fell out of touch, but in most I just didn't care.
If you don't know me you just learned that I can be callous. Welcome to FoolKiller's Journal.
Today I launched the site and posted my first essay, An Objectivist's Look at Bioshock, where I compare the Objectivism found in Rapture to that which is found in Ayn Rand's writings.
And I am still trying to decide on a background theme. I may see if I can creatte my own. |
