Meridith Coady, Chef/Partner

Meridith has 20 years experience in the hospitality industry, 16 of those working for the largest contract food service provider in North America.  She has managed food service operations in health care and higher education settings, including retail locations and catering services.  After many years of working for “the man”, she decided to quit fooling around and get serious about this food thing.  She is a graduate of the San Diego Culinary Institute and also has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  Meridith is ServSafe certified by the National Restaurant Association and is a member of the American Culinary Federation.

She is a wife and the mother of two boys.  Nate, age 7, has already declared his intent to be a famous chef when he grows up and is a budding musician.  Collin, age 4, has already declared his intent to eat his way through any donut shop he can find and is a one man demolition derby.  Both are (mostly) willing guinea pigs to the creations of the Food Geek kitchen.

Maga Coleman, Chef/Partner

Maga has owned her own catering company and has cooked professionally for most of her adult life.  Between cooking gigs, she has also worked in corporate America and has made a name for herself as a customer service queen.   Her career has given her the opportunity to assist customers while dealing with a personal or property loss and she has demonstrated an ability to handle difficult situations with grace and compassion.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Management.

Maga has traveled all over the world.  Some of her most memorable journeys include Vietnam, Spain, Italy, Costa Rica, and New Zealand.  These travels have allowed her to sample the cuisines of the world and incorporate them into her cooking at home.  She is the mother of two and the grandmother of four.  While she’s not refereeing fights between the aforementioned family members, she’s cooking her heart out and trying any new, interesting food and drink she can find.
