A CJ-750 M1.
Virtually identical to the IMZ/Ural M-72. Some of the first ones were assembled with actual M-72 parts.
![]() A PLA CJ-750 M1M.
This is a military M1M made for the Peoples Liberation Army.
The easy way to tell the difference from the older M1 flatheads is the addition of the cylindrical external ignition/timing module on the front-left of the engine.
A CJ-750 M1S (S=Super).
The OHV CJ-750 engines, unlike the first Ural and all the Dnepr OHV's, are 750cc.
Sometimes labelled an M1MS, too.
![]() Most, but not all, CJ-750 frames are easy to spot due to the lack of tapering near the plungers that the M-72's have.
Also, many CJ-750's have frame mounts for tool boxes near the plungers like the M1 pictured at the top of the page.
Usually, the front fender struts are bolted on and not riveted like the IMZ/Ural M-72M.
Many can and have been made into dead-ringers for 1938 BMW R-71's. |
