Flying Tigers, We have adopted a few soldiers. Below is some information on some items they could use. We will send them a package of items about every month or two. Thanks for your support! For their safety, their names and details have been removed.
Picture of the 1st Gift Pack we sent to our troops. July 2009 Here is a description of their wishes: They each have a twin bed, but no sheets, pillows, or blankets. No toiletries either. They would like a lock, even just a sliding one, to place on the inside of their doors so they can sleep better at night. Shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shaving cream, after-shave, soap, mouthwash, razors and things like nail clippers are appreciated. BABY WIPES are in high demand and anything like the Cost Co tubs of wipes with Lysol, Windex, etc. for sanitizers would also be great. Later, luxuries like a personal coffee maker etc. might be nice for Christmas if you guys wanted to do that. Meanwhile, introductions and letters, post cards and photos will be a wonderful way of keeping them connected with life back home and the feeling that we're here for them. They are appreciative for anything we are willing to send them.
Aug 2009
Here is an update of wishes.
- They really just want to be able to talk to their families. Right now it costs $400 for a three month period from each of them to have communications with their families. That is $1600 for a three month period. They are asking for any donation help towards this cost.
- They are also asking for simple items that they can hand out to the children: pencils, pens, candy, etc.
- I am sure they will appreciate anything we send them. Remember this is to help them feel closer to home, so magazines, comfort items, etc. would be great.
Please collect items and let Sunny know when you have some stuff to send.
