Jazz is very intelligent, can be high drive dog when warranted and is very intuitive. She has a mind of her own, she can be soft at times and responds well to her owners. Unfortunately we don’t live on a farm at this time so she is limited on the amount of farm work she is able to do. She is has done some herding (we don’t own a farm) at a friends. She’s doing great and I’m still learning the ropes. She is also doing extremely well in her agility training. Jazz is a very responsive girl.
She is a sable & white, weighs about 42 lbs, and has a medium, smooth coat.
Jazz is doing agility and herding sheep whenever possible. She is very alert at all times. She is constantly checking to see what to do next. She a very fast learner. She varies her intensity to suit her owners' command. She will tree or chase away any animals that don’t belong. She is quick to alert to strangers human or animal. Knows her territory and guards it well she will settle down when she knows the intruders are welcomed by us. Differentiates between threatening and non threatening situations. She is also very gentle with young animals and children. She is a wonderful companion and family dog. Loves to be involved with all of us. I was amazed at how easy and quick she has been to train she is always willing to attempt anything we ask of her.
Jazz whelped a litter of 7 pups in September 2007 with Shepherd's Way Mace. In June 2009 she whelped another litter of 7 pups with Flyby's Blazing Star. Sadly Jazz got mastitis with the last litter and for her health it was decided that she should be spayed. This was done Oct. 2 2009.

Nyssa is a fine dog who has a some experience with sheep in a controlled herding environment where she has shown herself to be somewhat of a dominance herder who bosses the stock into what she wants them to do. She seldom barks while around stock. Because she doesn't live on a farm, there is limited knowledge of her guardian nature. However, she has gently protected a newborn baby bird from the cat. She is protective of her territory and will bark at visitors. Nyssa has treed prey, standing on the side of the tree barking periodically. She has attempted to kill an opossum but called off when her owner called. She is a busy girl when on duty, but is content to lay around when there is nothing for her to do. She is biddable in many ways but she is not afraid to let her opinion be known. If she feels she knows more than her owner, she will question your intent.
