  1. Rarely seen. Fleetwood MYPBC model yachting lake becalmed.

Fleetwood RC Lasers were first launched when Fleetwood MYPBC decided to adopt the RC Laser as one of its classes to be raced at the club. Some members and one or two others who had previously been racing RC Lasers at Carnforth constituted  the nucleus and the fleet was born!

We are proud to be part of Fleetwood MYPB Club, one of the oldest and most prestigious clubs in the country. We enjoy the use of a fine clubhouse and first class sailing conditions on a large, purpose built model yachting lake with all-round access that has enjoyed weed-free conditions throughout the year.

We have a growing fleet of 16 RC Lasers and an additional boat that is available on loan for the day to anyone who wants to come and try the 'RC Laser experience'. Be warned though, the bug is easily caught!

We meet throughout the year and can offer a breadth of competition that is attractive to participants of any experience and ability and provides a natural focus for RC Laser sailing in the North West. All the tactics and racecraft of full size sailing are here without the disadvantages.

Want to join us and aren't already a member of Fleetwood MYPB Club? Come down to the lake on any day we are racing or follow this link to the main Fleetwood MYPB Club site. Not sure when we are racing? See this link.

Winter Series Dates
Time to do battle with the elements and cast aside the sloth of Christmas past, yes the winter series kicks off on the 15th of January. Details of all the rounds on the racing programme page.

Sunday 27th Nov
Update:
There was rather a lot of that as per below. An 'E' rig would have been a good idea, but pocket hankies were in short supply. A test launch by Shaun established that racing would play second place to survival - tacking and downwind progress were very fraught so we decided to retire to Sunday papers and slippers!
Results will be updated soon.

Roll up, roll up, it's round five of the Autumn Series! Don't forget your 'D' rig, there may be some of this:

Northern District Championship 2011

At a well attended event here at Fleetwood in poor weather conditions 21 boats took to the water. Fleetwood skippers John Sharman and Tom Mills took 2nd and 5th places respectively.

A belated welcome to Tom who has recently joined the fleet and is already showing his competitiveness.

The event was won by National champion Dave Fowler.
