Fleet Area Schools Working Group

Two years ago on 2nd March 2009 – approximately 45 families from Ancells, Pondtail, Crondall and Ewshot discovered their child had not got into their catchment schools. 40 got none of their preferences. Many parents crammed into a room to discuss the issues and the Working Group was formed from a group of these parents.
Our campaign is very straightforward - we want a long term sustainable solution for our children to be able to attend local secondary schools in catchment, without causing detriment to the standards at the existing schools. Whilst this year (September 2011) intake appears to be manageable, it is clear that for 2012 (current Year 4) and beyond, there will simply be too many children for this to be a viable solution.
