Who We Are
- We were founded in 1997 as a home school cooperative (The Family Learning Center), primarily meeting the needs of the Christian missionary and pastor community. Our graduates have performed well in universities in Thailand and N. America. In the last 3 years we have grown to 70 students and are currently recruiting qualified staff from various countries.
- Our students set an example by working together in community service and outreach. We seek to bless the Chiang Rai community, Thailand, and the world.
Mission and Philosophy- Our mission at CRICS is to “serve the servant by providing quality, innovative, family-orientated English Christian Education.”
- We are committed to helping each student develop his or her intellect, emotions, character and love for learning, and to help him or her discover their God given gifts, talents and abilities.
- We especially serve the children of English-speaking missionaries and other foreign Christian workers. However we are also very happy to serve a number of students from the local community. Their presence provides culture, diversity and resources, all of which help us prepare our students to be successful in the years ahead.
Curriculum - CRICS is international in nature, and is especially designed to meet the needs of third culture kids. CRICS’ English medium curriculum is based on American standards but will include other Thai and international emphases, resulting in an international worldview.
- We are currently in a registration process and expect to eventually be fully accredited by Thai Ministry of Education (MOE), ACSI and WASC. This will result in diplomas that are recognized in both N. America and in Thailand.
Overseas Affiliations- Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
(This is already in place.)
- The Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
(We expect this in the future.)
Style - We will strive for a modest style that is adequate to meet the needs of our kids. We have a commitment to keep a low-teacher-student ratio and to keep active family involvement in the school. We strive to keep the school affordable for missionary parents.
Size - Phase 1 (through 2012) will serve up to 175 students, with 13 grades (Kindergarten through 12). Initially we anticipate 1 classroom per grade, with additional classrooms for teaching of Thai, ESL, science, music, sports and other subjects. We envision no more than 15 students per class, with even lower numbers in lower grades.
Statement of Faith
- We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God and the final authority in faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21).
- We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30).
- We believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33),
- His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:35),
- His sinless life (Hebrews 4: 15, 7:26), His miracles (John 2:11),
- His vicarious and atoning death (1 Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9),
- His Resurrection (John 11:25, 1 Corinthians 15:4),
- His Ascension to the right hand of God (Mark 16:19),
- His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11).
- We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature and that men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ and that only by God's grace and through faith alone are we saved (John 3:16–19, 5:24; Romans 3:23, 5:8–9; Ephesians 2:8–10; Titus 3:5).
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of condemnation (John 5:28–29).
- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 12:12–13, Galatians 3:26–28).
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:13–14; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18).
