Having a flare kit is mandatory

for some vehicles and boats. A flare kit is used by law enforcement in many instances to warn travelers of an accident or road hazard. Boating flare kits usually come with a flare gun that projects a flare into the sky. This enables the user to be seen by other vessels or overhead aircraft.

A flare kit can also be carried by an outdoor sports person. Flares are made to be used in almost any condition and have been known to aid in the starting of a fire for warmth or cooking food. This could be the difference for survival under severe weather conditions. 

Automotive flare kit pertains to design change on automobiles. The flaring of wheel wells has been popular for modifying vehicles with larger tires. Vehicle enthusiasts also sometimes add a flare fit to a racing car or truck. A flare kit can include many pieces to change a vehicle appearance from the manufacturer design. It can enhance the overall visual appearance and help with aerodynamics in high speed vehicles.




 Flare kit is also used to describe tools needed to expand or flare pipe connections. Commonly used for flaring copper lines. The copper is softer than most metals and can be manipulated easily.Many gas fitters will be equipped with a flare fit in their tool inventory. The pipe is inserted into a device and then spread with a cone head shaped instrument. This enables the pipe to be attached to a fitting with a threaded nut.
