Gradualia

I conducted this ensemble in 2001-4, and the details below relate to this period. For a more up-to-date listing, see the choir's website at www.gradualia.ukonline.co.uk

Gradualia was founded in October 2001 in order to explore the sacred vocal repertoire of the late 15th to early 17th Centuries. Its debut concert took place in Magdalen College Chapel in February 2002, with works by Cornysh, White and Alonso Lobo. Apart from music from Byrd’s celebrated collection Gradualia, from which they take their name, the choir specialises particularly in the works of Robert White and Jean Lheritier, and the music of the Eton Choirbook. The eight current members listed below are joined by additional voices for larger-scale works such as Gombert’s Missa Tempore Paschali and Wylkynson's Salve Regina.
