'exceptionally accomplished musicians' (Oxford Times, February 2003)

 Bach Collegium Oxford was founded in the spring of 2002 by a group of Oxford-based period-instrument specialists. The principal members are Heather Birt  (baroque violin), Judith Dallosso (baroque cello), Michael Lowe (theorbo), Francis Knights (director/harpsichord) and Jenny Bacon (soprano), who are joined by additional players and singers for larger-scale works. The ensemble has used a number of historic string instruments kindly loaned by The Bate Collection, Oxford.
