Education Philosophy

To me education’s purpose is to create responsible, contributing, self-sufficient citizens.  I believe that my role as a teacher is to aid students in uncovering knowledge that will help them in their life journey.  Some of this information comes explicitly in lessons and that address state standards.  Other areas are not so easily categorized and aren’t usually given a grade.  They’re the relationship skills that are so important in our lives.  I feel that for me to be a good teacher I’ll need to be able to teach to standards while still addressing the important social skills needed for individual development. eel that for me to be a good teacher I need to be able to teach the subjects while still addressing the important social skills that are so important for individual development.
