Hair and Makeup

Q: What is a chignon?  How do I put my hair in a chignon?

A:  Chignon (pronounced shin-yawn) is a French word meaning "roll or knot of hair".  Putting your hair in a chignon involves four easy steps:
        1. Pull your hair into a tight ponytail.
        2. Twist the hair with your fingers and wrap it around the base of the ponytail.
        3. Secure with bobby pins and hairspray.
        4. Cover chignon with a matching hairnet (nylon).
