IMPROVEMENTS AT NEW VENUE

The top news item is that in 2009 we are moving to a brand new venue. Everybody on the committee is looking forward to all the facilities that the new place provides.

We received some helpful feedback from some of you regarding the last event, so we hope that the changes that we are making, will go someway toward levitating some of the 'critique' we had.

TO LOUD

Some of you felt there was not enough time set aside for talking, so we have negotiated a 7pm start for next years party. Also the Cabaret will not be starting until 8.45pm, leaving a good 90 minutes 'chat time'. Although we will be playing some very light background music up until this time.

The OTT Roadshow Disco has taken you comments on board, and will be reducing the noise level for their end of evening session.

But with a much larger hall, people who want to hold a conversation have the added facility to able to sit much further away from the performers, so a balance between the talkers and listeners should be achieved.

TO CROWDED

This was the deciding factor in this years decision to move away from the DRG Stapleton Club. It was felt that to fully enjoy the evening and provide the guests with comfortable seating and views of the stage, we would have to move down the road to The Stapleton & Begbrook Club with it's seating for 140 people.

BONUS EXTRAS

 The Begbrook Club boasts a large bay marked car park, also a very large dance floor and bar with a reasonably priced selection of good wines and beers. We have acquired a 12 o'clock midnight extension to the bar opening times.

We have also booked some top-line entertainment for you in 2009, with the superb Bristol Duo 'Bula Bula' making their reunion debut. The group are a spin-off from the legendary Bristol Comets, whom Andy & Tony still play for. Also by popular demand, making a return at the '2009 Party' we have 'Bristol's Mr. Elvis Presley' ~ Rock 'n' Gerry.

The 'Raffle Draw' which was a big hit with party goers last year, is back again. It helped raise a lot of money for the 'Bristol Children's Hospital', if you can see your way clear to bringing a small raffle prize along with you on the night we would be most grateful.

Thanks for all your kind support over the last three years, and with your help we can turn this event into one of the highlights of the year.
