First English Lutheran Church Council Meeting April 17, 2012
Present: Pastor Herrick, Paula Hughson, Kathleen Eckermann, Larry Fuller, Candy VonDeak, Diane Persico, Jonathan Plochko, Steve Grant, Jim Jerge, and Ron Bildstein. Also present: Audrey Gibbs, Jeff Rogers
The meeting was opened at 7:03 pm with devotions by Pastor Herrick – “In the thick of life…”from ELCA Bishop Hanson’s Easter message.
Audrey Gibbs and Jeff Rogers presented “Shop.com” and “MarketAmerica.com” as a possible fundraiser for FEL. It’s a product brokerage where non-profits can raise funds.
The agenda was adopted with the postponement of Constitution Committee discussion until May Council meeting. And with the change in adoption of “December” meeting minutes to “February” meeting minutes.
MMSP to adopt January meeting minutes as written. MMSP to adopt February meeting minutes as written.
Officer Reports:
Pastor as written with this addition: Closing on the house will be Wednesday, 4/18/12, at 4 pm with a balance of $98,411.40 to the seller. Other costs will be paid from this with the final balance to be determined.
Pastoral Associate – as written
President and Vice-President Steve Grant resigned from this position of President for personal reasons at this time. Larry Fuller, VP, takes over as President. The secretary cast a representative ballot to elect Steve Grant Vice President. MMSP.
Treasurer as written – Food pantry finances are in the hole. Audit committee - Ron Bildstein, Jim Jerge and Steve Grant

Outreach Welcome statement is framed in memory of Ginny Weidig
WELCA - No meeting in April
Raise the Roof - Working on boards to show the memorial giving.
Unfinished Business:
Syracuse Visions - Thursday, May 10 – 7 pm
New Business:
MMSP to purchase a Workstation for the church secretary from BMSC Services for $749.90
In May we will discuss possible change of scheduled meeting night. All Council members should bring calendars for this discussion.
